How do I return an item?

Once you place your thredUP order, you have 14 days after receiving your clothes to decide what you want to keep or return. NOW we provide you with a printable, pre-addressed return label making returns easier than ever!!! 

Start your order return by logging into your thredUP account from your computer/laptop, and going to Account > Order Returns. Order returns may not be initiated from the mobile app or web at this time. 

Choose the order from which you would like to return items, and follow the instructions on the orders returns page:

  1. Select the items you wish to return by checking the box to the left of the item's photo.
  2. Tell us why you are returning the item(s) by choosing an option from our drop-down menu and leave a comment if you like.
  3. Choose your preferred refund method which will generate a pre-addressed, pre-paid FedEx/USPS return shipping label.
    • If choosing to receive your refund as thredUP credit, your return shipping is FREE!
    • If choosing to refund to your original form of payment, your refund amount will be deducted $8.99 for the return shipping fee.
    • If you would like to return items from multiple orders, create one return choosing one of the above options and use this third option for the orders being added. This option will NOT print a label. One of the orders will need to use option 1 or 2. This third option will always refund back to your source of payment.

Please note: 

If using your own shipping please choose the third option. It will allow your return to be refunded to your original form of payment with no return fee deducted. No shipping label will be provided.  

Click the "Begin Return" button to confirm.

Download and print your return slip and shipping label. Include your return slip with items you are returning and affix your shipping label to any return packaging you wish. 

Within 1-2 business days of us receiving your returns, you will be notified via a detailed email notification when your items have been fully refunded. You may also check the status of your return by clicking here

  • Please do not send your returns in a polka dot Clean Out bag. These items are processed and handled with the intent to be resold and we cannot guarantee your returned items will be refunded properly.
  • In order to qualify for a refund, all items must be in the condition in which you received them. Items new with tags must be returned with original tags attached.
  • Handbags and final sale items are non-returnable.
  • Promotions and discounts will not be reimbursed. 
  • Only customers shipping to the 48 contiguous US states will have access to the pre-paid, pre-addressed return label.
  • Final sale items can not be returned but if an item does not arrive as described, please reach out to customer support.
